Hammersmith and Fulham Liberal Democrats joined with local residents to protest about the proposed redevelopment of the Goldhawk Industrial Estate.
The developer's plan is to replace 11 light industrial units with 56 housing units and a further 11 commercial units, in 3 and 4 storey blocks. Residents of Brackenbury Road, Dalling Road and Goldhawk Road are concerned about the impact of the plan.
Rosemary Pettit of the Brackenbury Residents Association is coordinating the campaign to convince the planning committee of H&F Borough Council that the scale of the proposed development is quite inappropriate.
Merlene Emerson, Lib Dem Parliamentary Campaigner for Hammersmith added her voice, saying "We're in recession with more job losses each day. Why destroy a thriving industrial estate to build more houses no-one can afford?"
