Opponents of the proposed redevelopment of the Goldhawk Industrial Estate have instructed a top planning lawyer, Patrick Clarkson QC, to examine the planning officer's report on the proposed redevelopment of the Estate.
The planning hearing, originally scheduled for the first week of August, has had to be delayed because of objections by the Environment Agency to the quality and content of the developer's Flood Risk Assessment. Despite asking for more detail in February, the Environment Agency still has insufficient information. The concerns include both the risk to the development itself, if the Thames floods, and also any increased risk of flooding for other property from the drainage from this site.
Local residents are strongly opposed to plans to replace the 10 light industrial units, home to some well-known businesses including Innocent Drinks, with a complex of multistory buildings containing more than 50 housing units. The Brackenbury Residents Association is pressing for the consultation to be re-opened once the information required by the Environment Agency is available. They are asking for copies of the Risk Assessment, and urge other concerned residents and businesses to do the same.
Details of the plans, with visuals and posts may be found in Facebook on Goldhawk Industrial Site Redevelopment Ha!,.
