Tackling Crime

It's official. Liberal Democrats are better at reducing crime than the other parties! In Lib Dem-controlled councils, including most of our biggest cities, crime has fallen by 20 per cent, more than in Tory or Labour areas.
Rob Easthope says "Instead of posturing about tougher punishments which are the least affective means to cut crime, Lib Dems concentrate on prevention. Simple things such as replacing glass with plastic glasses at pubs, introducing taxi marshals at taxi queues, sharing information about knifings between hospitals and police make a big difference. These may not grab the headlines but they do make our cities safer."
